Aviation busy again in April | Business

Hanoi (VNA) – National airlines operated 30,000 inbound and outbound flights in April, down 2.4% year on year, including 12,000 transit flights, a 25% increase from the same period last year , according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

During the month, Vietnamese airports welcomed 6.6 million passengers, down 14.3% from the same period last year, including 232,000 foreigners, a 502% increase from April 2021 , when COVID-19 was developing in a complicated way in Vietnam and around the world.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of international passengers choosing the services of Vietnamese airlines increased by 214.7%, while the number of domestic passengers fell by 18.2%.

As for freight transport, in April, 140,700 tonnes of freight were transported through Vietnamese airports, up 18.4% year on year. Of this number, 27,000 tonnes were transported by national airlines.

In April, the CAAV implemented measures to ensure aviation safety and security. From March 16 to April 15, the authority treated 17 individuals violating aviation regulations with a fine of 110.75 million VND (4,817 USD)./.
