Hanoi (VNA) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has decided to increase the landing and take-off frequency at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City based on airline transportation needs by February 20, 2022.
Thus, from February 10 to 20, the hourly frequency of landing and take-off is 48 flights during the period from 06:00 to 23:55 (local time), and 36 flights for the period from 00:00 to 05:00:55 (local time) .
From February 21 to April 30, the frequency will be 30 flights per hour.
Previously, during the peak Lunar New Year (Tet) festival period, the frequency at the airport had increased from 40 to 46 flights per hour. The CAAV required airlines to guarantee the efficient use of granted take-off and landing slots.
Meanwhile, the Southern Airports Authority and Tan Son Nhat The international airport is requested to coordinate with the municipal transport department to increase public transport to meet passenger travel needs, with the aim of reducing congestion at the airport.
According to the CAAV, the demand for travel from localities in the country to City of HCM still remains high after the Tet holiday.
To meet this growing travel demand, from February 7 to 10, 2022, the national carrier Vietnam Airlines has scheduled flights and applied for slots and flight permits at the HOW ARE YOU for 197 flights from high-demand locations to Ho Chi Minh City, including Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Quang Ngai, Quy Nhon, Dong Hoi, Hai Phong, Buon Me Thuot, Pleiku and Tuy Whoa.
Vietnam Airlines has also proposed to increase 897 flights to serve passengers due to return to HCM City from Feb. 11-20./.
