Five-person Vietnamese tourists enjoy visa-free policy

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam has the latest information on visa waiver policy at Yangyang International Airport in Gangwon Province of South Korea for Vietnamese tourists.

Along with this, Korea’s new airline “Fly Gangwon” opened Yangyang – Hanoi and Yangyang – Ho Chi Minh City direct flights from October 13, 2022, to serve Korean tour groups under the policy of visa waiver.

Currently, the visa-free entry policy at Yangyang International Airport is still applied to Vietnamese tourists who meet the prescribed conditions. The authority of Gangwon Province announced that it has no adjustment in terms of this visa waiver policy. Therefore, tour groups traveling to Korea via travel agencies directly at Yangyang Airport are still eligible for the visa waiver policy.

For some reasons, designated travel agencies in Vietnam and Korea currently rolling out visa-free travel products to Yangyang via Fly Gangwon Airlines direct flight are temporarily unable to accept visa-exempt guests at Yangyang airport. Yangyang from October 23 to 31. 2022, temporarily preventing Vietnamese tourists from accessing and enjoying policies through this company; therefore, it caused misunderstandings about the visa-free policy of Gangwon Province.

According to KTO, Vietnam is a potential market for Korean tourism, so in the context of economic recovery and international exchanges after the Covid-19 pandemic, Korea in general and Gangwon Province in particular still have policies to create the most favorable conditions for Vietnamese tourists.

Currently, visitors to Korea are not only entitled to the visa-free entry policy at Yangyang International Airport in Gangwon and Jeju International Airport on Jeju Island, but also the requirements of epidemic prevention at entry, including the number of vaccines, testing for Covid-19 has also been completely eliminated.
