Vietnam Airlines Certified with 5-Star COVID19 Aviation Safety Rating

Vietnam Airlines has been certified with 5 stars COVID19 Airline Safety Rating – the ninth airline in the world to meet the criteria for this high level accreditation.

The COVID19 safety audit, which was conducted by Skytrax in May and June 2021, assessed all safety and hygiene protocols introduced by Vietnam Airlines in response to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic.

The assessment includes all airport and on-board cleanliness factors, cleaning and disinfection procedures, staff compliance with standards and PPE use, COVID19 signage and information, enforcement of social distancing, hand disinfection facilities, PA advice, organization and control of passenger flows, monitoring use of face masks and appropriate service systems at the airport and on board flights.

Edward Plaisted of Skytrax said, “Vietnam Airlines continued to operate domestic flights and provide service on a small number of international flights. Meanwhile, the airline has implemented a wide range of improved hygiene measures and revised service to keep customers and staff safe during the pandemic. The protocols are applied consistently and taking into account the level of risk in the domestic market, and most importantly, Vietnam Airlines has put in place proper planning to manage the increase in passenger volumes and handle more international customers. “

Vietnam Airlines recently increased the number of hand hygiene units in all high contact areas during check-in, boarding, baggage claim and in Lotus lounges.

Lotus lounges have a range of improved distancing and one-way systems to facilitate safe movement and tailored service procedures for food and drink, which includes increased cleaning of contact surfaces in the room. to eat.

All areas of the salon are subjected to enhanced disinfection, and the majority of seats, tables and other contact points are cleaned after use by each customer.

Electronic reading material will replace physical newspapers and magazines.

Passengers can expect to board the aircraft using a system designed to increase physical distance, and similarly, a strict disembarkation protocol is enforced upon arrival.

Appropriate distancing, hand hygiene and contactless service systems have also been designed for baggage claim processes.

On-board service has been streamlined to reduce contact between customers and staff – however, cabin crew wear a full range of PPE, and passengers are given disinfectants and wipes, and can request face masks.

Mr. Le Hong Ha, President and CEO of Vietnam Airlines, said, “We are very proud to be certified with the 5-star COVID19 aviation safety rating. This is a testament to Vietnam Airlines’ constant efforts and also reflects our investment in ensuring maximum levels of hygiene and safety at all stages of passenger travel. With safety our top priority, we are committed to implementing the most comprehensive COVID19 safety program, allowing passengers to travel with confidence. We aspire to work towards a smooth job. -stage of pandemic recovery, helping the country to fight the pandemic and revive economic growth. “
