– A Vietnam Airlines flight en route from Germany at Ho Chi Minh City made an emergency landing at Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport in Azerbaijan late October 6 to rescue a German passenger suffering from health problems.

The national airline said flight VN30, departing Frankfurt Airport for HCM City at 7:40 p.m. on October 6 (Vietnam time), landed at Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport after 4 hours and 35 minutes for bring emergency aid to an 18-year-old German. who fell ill on board.

A doctor and a nurse of German nationality, also passengers of the flight, provided emergency treatment to the passenger suffering from health problems, but his condition did not improve.

The flight crew advised the Vietnamese airlines flight operations division of the matter and decided to land at the nearest airport, Baku Heydar Aliyev, at 12:15 a.m. on October 7 (Vietnam time).

The carrier cooperated with the ground service of the Azerbaijani airport, to which it has never had scheduled flights, to help the passenger manage entry, visa application and emergency transportation procedures. He also asked the airport to send staff members to accompany the passenger to the hospital and informed the German Embassy in Azerbaijan of the matter.

The flight departed Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport for HCM City at 3:38 a.m. on October 7 (Vietnam time). He landed at HCM City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport at 11:45 a.m. the same day, 3 hours and 50 minutes later than scheduled, Vietnam Airlines said.

In the past, the company had also delayed or made emergency landings for certain flights to help passengers with serious health problems./.
