Vietnam Airlines launches “Rediscover Vietnam” program in Singapore

Singapore, April 15 (Bernama): Vietnam Airlines has launched the “Fly Vietnam Airlines, Re-discover Vietnam” program in Singapore, which aims to further promote the country’s safe tourism in the post-Covid-19 era.

This is the first in a series of events organized by Vietnam Airlines and its partners around the world, according to the Vietnamese News Agency (VNA).

After a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, the carrier has so far re-operated flights to many markets, and Singapore is the first market in which it has resumed two-way services.

Vietnam has achieved positive results in its vaccination rollout and officially reopened to foreign visitors on March 15.

In the first quarter of this year, the number of international tourists and the volume of goods passing through Vietnamese airports increased by 176% and 113% respectively compared to the previous quarter.

VNA reported that Vietnam’s Ambassador to Singapore, Mai Phuoc Dung, at the launch on Tuesday, said the tourism and hospitality industries are not the only sectors to benefit from the resumption of normal travel between the two. country.

As Singapore has been the largest foreign investor in Vietnam over the past two years, the resumption of travel is creating favorable conditions for investors from both countries and giving great hope for a more vibrant future, he said.

The airline currently operates 18 weekly flights between Singapore and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. From June 1, it will open more direct flights from Singapore to Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Nha Trang.

Travelers are allowed to exchange tickets for free if they unfortunately contract Covid-19 and cannot depart as planned, the VNA report added. – Bernama
