National carrier Vietnam Airlines offers tickets between HCMC and Phnom Penh in Cambodia, with one-way prices starting at 2.5 million VND ($109.54).
Flights to Cambodia are expected to resume on January 1, 2022.
From Hanoi to Tokyo, the starting fare is 11.7 million VND; and from HCMC in San Francisco, 21.2 million VND.
Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways have opened ticket sales to several destinations, including the United States, Japan and Taiwan, signaling the resumption of international travel on New Year’s Day.
All flights are scheduled for January 1, 5 and 9, respectively.
Vietnam Airlines is not yet offering tickets to Singapore and Taipei, although it has received permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) to reopen flights on these routes.
The CAAV approved the resumption of international air routes to Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Cambodia and the United States, with each national airline allowed to operate four flights per week on each route.
Vietnam closed its borders and banned international flights in March 2020, allowing only citizens, foreign experts, investors and highly skilled workers to travel on special flights. e.vnexpress
