Hanoi (VNA) – National flag bearer Vietnam Airlines successfully flew the IATA Travel Pass on a Hanoi-London flight on September 2 with the participation of 18 passengers.

This part of the cooperation agreement signed by the carrier and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in May.

The ticket integrates leading digital solutions such as contactless air travel, biometric data and online health certificates with COVID-19[female[feminine test result and vaccination.

With a quick and simple procedure, it is hoped to facilitate safe and easy travel between nations in the context of the pandemic.

The airline is expected to pilot the mechanism on flights from Hanoi to Seoul on September 12; in London on September 21; and weekly in Tokyo.

Vietnam AirlinesFlight VN310 between Hanoi Noi Bai Airport and Tokyo Narita Airport on August 12 was the carrier’s first to pilot the IATA Travel Pass app.

The airline hopes that the successful electronic health passport test will serve as a basis for the Vietnamese government to consider officially recognizing this mechanism, speeding up the resumption of international flights in the near future./.
