|Vietnam Airlines will temporarily suspend Hanoi-Moscow service from March 25 until further notice.|
Explaining the reasons in a statement, the national airline said it needed to review and clarify procedures, requirements and regulations for insurance and flight operations to Russia.
It’s unclear how long the suspension will last. In its statement, Vietnam Airlines said it will temporarily suspend service until further notice and expressed deep regret over the force majeure.
For passengers who purchased tickets, the airline said it would offer free ticket refunds or change tickets for other flights. He recommended passengers to regularly monitor and update information in future announcements.
Vietnam Airlines, the only airline currently operating a regular route to Russia, also confirmed that it is working hard with relevant agencies to resume operation of this route as soon as possible.
The airline has just resumed regular service between Hanoi and Moscow since the beginning of this year after nearly two years of closure due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) officially issued a press release on February 24 regarding the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian situation on the international routes of Vietnamese airlines.
Many other domestic and international air services will be reopened
Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways are expected to resume more domestic and international air routes, add flights and launch new services to meet growing travel demand, as the country will fully reopen tourism on March 15.
